Setaflash test achieves approved precision for testing the flash point of biodiesel

Test method ASTM D3828 ‘Flash point by small scale closed cup tester’ has recently achieved ASTM approved precision for testing FAME/B100 biodiesel. This test method and its EN/ISO 3679/3680 equivalents are now the only methods with approved precision for testing the flash point of biodiesel.

These test methods offer either a 1 minute flash no-flash test using just 2 ml of sample or an exact determination of the flash point.
