New research on Thermal Stability
The Seta-HiReTS (High Reynolds Number Thermal Stability) Tester has been designed to provide an instrument and test method that will meet the changing demands of the aviation industry and provide accurate, definitive determination of Thermal Oxidation Stability in simulated operating conditions. First introduced by Shell Research in the UK, the HiReTS tester and test methods (D6811 / IP482) have been developed under licence by Stanhope-Seta.
The operational envelope of the HiReTS Tester also provides considerable scope for thermal stability research on future fuels and other hydrocarbon products. The latest research on the effects of fuel composition changes on rocket (RP-1) fuel thermal stability has been undertaken at the UAH Propulsion Research Centre, Huntsville, Alabama.
